Symptoms of Diabetes
In most cases, the symptoms of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are the same. In both cases, there is high sugar level in the blood and is not available to the cells in the body.
Type 1 diabetes is caused by lack of insulin due to the destruction of the pancreas, the organ which is responsible for insulin production. In the case of type 2 diabetes, the cells become resistant to insulin. In both cases, the following symptoms are observable:
Urinating Frequently
Here is what happens. Because sugar can no longer be used by the cells, it stays in the bloodstream. When the sugar in our blood becomes excessive, it will pull fluid from the tissues. This fluid dilutes the excess sugar and washes them out of the body through the urine. This is how the body gets rid of the sugar from the bloodstream.
Becoming Thirsty Frequently
You don't become unnecessarily thirsty because of urination. The main reason why diabetic patients get thirsty quickly is because fluids is constantly living the body tissue. So, to pass fluid to the tissues, the body's primary response is to feel thirsty.
Unavoidable Loss of Weight
Your excessive eating habit will not stop you from losing weight. This is because the level of sugar required can not be effectively transfered into the cells. No doubt, sugar is the source of the body's energy. When sugar is not available for the cells to use, the body will respond by breaking down the stored fats and even muscles in the body and will then convert it into useful energy. The outcome is you will lose weight when fats are broken down.
Besides the symptoms treated above, the following symptoms include tiredness, tingling, numbing of the legs, feet or hands, frequent infections and dryness of the skin and excessive eating.
When the disease gets to its peak, most common symptom that is got is a wound that takes too long to heal. This actually occurs in the feet. There is a number of reasons for this. First is poor circulation. Secondly, when blood sugar level is high, they is a big chance that the fat deposit will build itself up along the artery which will inturn damage the protein along those arteries. Also due to nerve damage, the immune system does not work well due to the presence of high levels of sugar in the blood.
So, if you have any of these symptoms, visit your doctor for medical check up and let him check your blood sugar level.

I know that they are an alternative medicine type doctor, and that they can't write prescriptions, which for a doctor sounds a little suspicious to me, but wondered specifically what a chiropractor doctor believed about diabetes control? Do they believe/ support insulin for treatment or have the belief that diabetes can be controlled with back adjustments and a better diet?
